The Beginning of ECAPS

The restaurant located in Kemang, South Jakarta, and established since 2020. It is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm. Menu prices start as low as Rp 25,000.

Review of ECAPS the Zero Waste Café
EZPZ Jakarta had the opportunity to visit and enjoy the atmosphere of ECAPS Jakarta. The first impression when arriving at ECAPS is that the cafe is quite spacious and there are indoor and outdoor spaces. For workaholics who want to do WFC, ECAPS Cafe become perfect place to work while enjoying a cup of coffee.
Not only that, with a variety of menus offered by ECAPS, the EZPZ Jakarta team was tempted to try some of the food and drinks from ECAPS. There is one favorite menu item that was ordered, namely Shimokitazawa Toast. The decadent French toast topped with fresh fruits and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and the maple syrup. The flavor is definitely delicious!
Zero Waste Café and Restaurant
In June 2023, 410 kg of waste was collected from ECAPS cafes in Jakarta. The composition of the waste includes 37% organic waste, 19% inorganic and paper waste, and 44% other types of waste.
To achieve the Zero Waste to Landfill principle, all wastes were optimally managed and processed. Organic waste turned into compost and used to breed BSF flies, inorganic waste sold to the recycling industry, and residual waste is processed through the RDF process. ECAPS has made a significant contribution to preventing and minimizing the generation of new waste in landfills.
With the help of the Waste to Landfill Reduction Service, between January and June 2023, ECAPS successfully disposed of 3,673 kg of waste from its operations. Efforts are needed to protect nature.
ECAPS Promotes a Sustainable Concept
ECAPS Café also part of the zero waste concept it promotes. This leads to the implementation of a circular economy and the use of recycled products.
One example is the creation of an outdoor organic herb garden using compost from processed organic waste as fertilizer. The presence of these plants makes the return to nature even more evident.
ECAPS Jakarta also uses several decorations made from recycled and recyclable items. Starting from the room divider, dining table and chairs, bar and coffee counter are all made from used goods.
Through the practice of recycling used goods, visitors learned that waste that is considered worthless can be transformed into functional objects that support aesthetics.
